HBCU Game Day MEAC Round Up

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

Big Cobi gets you ready with the most important information in the MEAC.

What's a good family welcome to the cook out. I'm Jakobe Simmons and I'm bringing you my meact report. This was a good week for the meat. Powered by the legs and arms of Davis Richard. North Carolina central made a statement with a forty five win over twenty five rank New Hampshire on the road. I thought that guys played well. Um, we showed a lot of Pois and resilience playing on the road and in a hostile environment. and Um, defensively, I thought that that Um, we took away what they wanted to do. We stopped the run and took away their best player. And then offensively, we controlled the clock and we were able to put a lot of points on the board early and often. So so I was pleased with the win. Morton State's Defense Lockdown Two Times Northeast Conference Champ and FCS playoff team, sacred heart nine. We had duce Taylor come in and and and Carson Baker took a little hit early in the game and duce came in and I see if they want to think we have two quarterbacks that we can win with and Duce had an opportunity. Uh Saturday the show that that he has...

...the ability to lead the ball club. Um, obviously was mason place. No audre Crawley. Mason made a big time one hand catch across the middle of the field. That got the momentum going in our favor. and Uh Graham and Johnston, I think there were two of the better backs uh FCS football. Either one of those guys could be starters or be a starter and uh, they really compliment each other well, and does. It's good to see those guys have some success. Howard University defense steps up and their offense shows out. What they win in the inaugural HBC U NYC classic. Thirty one and nothing over more house. Well, I really, really pleased with the way those guys that up. We had four starters out in our secondary. Uh had a bunch of young guys that hadn't played a lot of football, you know, back there on the back end and and and did a really good job and kind of, you know, a lot of guys around them stepped up, elevated kind of raised their level of play. UH, and to go out there with, you know, missing four starters and pitched a shout out. It was a pretty good shot for our defense. It was stream. Would happy with him, Um, and then just happy with...

...overall the offense and, you know, making some adjustments first half, adjustments, uh, to what we were getting, some things that we hadn't seen in different things like that, and the kids did a really good job with the adjustments and came out uh and and played hard, played together, uh and executed at a high level. Therefore, you saw the thirty one point for everyone on answered the points. Now Delaware state picks up a win versus the Hapless Virginia University Litsburgh. Thirty five and nineteen. Saturday's game was a different game than I expected. UH, Lynchburg is a is a better football program than they were a year ago and uh, but all in all we came out with the victory. Um, defense played well. gave him some things early in the passing game. They did defensively, but to hold a team, regardless of who you're playing, for a negative twenty one yards of Russian, uh, your d lines playing pretty well. So's pleased with that, please. With the outcome us. Always a good thing when you get...

...a win, but we have a lot of work to do. Norfolk state can't get the ball rolling dropping to Oh and three with a tough loss to Hampton seventeen seven. We had a chance, we had some opportunities to win a football game and we we didn't get it done. Well, he was fourteen to seven going into the fourth quarter. Still had a chance to win the football game. Had possessions inside the territory and couldn't get touchdowns. And that's been the tough part of our season so far, as just getting these young guys to to play and play well at critical point in times in the football games. And South Carolina State rested up with a bye week. Hey, I will not get into the standings right now, but I will give you my power rankings going in the week three. Number One, North Carolina Central University, because of their early success over North Carolina and T and New Hampshire. Number two, South Carolina State University. They are still one of the top teams in the ofference until they show me they are not. They...

...are still the reigning champs. Number three, Delaware state. Their defense is still showing up and beating who they're supposed to beat. Number four, morten state, with a tough loss in a game they could have won versus Towson. Then they took out defending NBC champ in commanding fashion. Number five, Howard. I believe in Howard, but I have to see them play four quarters as a team. Number six, Norfolk state. I know they're a good team and J J Davis is an emergency star, but they can't seem to get the ball rolling this year. That being said, the meat is full of parody. The teams from three to six can quickly and easily change positions. North Carolina Central and South Carolina state seemed to be the class of the conference right now, but some teams are trending up. Coming up this week, Norfolk attempts to get on the right track with the team they beat last year. I will be looking to see if J J Davis can get...

...going and if the defense can lock down St Francis. Delaware state is looking for revenge against Marymack after losing forty seven to ten last year. Can C J Henry and J J Halsey connecting of to get the Hornets over the Hump? Can the MEACS second ranked Defense Slow Down Marymack? Can South Carolina state finally get a win over North Carolina and t? These players have not beaten a and T in their college careers. Will this year be different? Will Jablonsky Green and the bulldogs defense have enough, as Corey feels ready to make a statement? This is also a game that's going to give us a temperature reading about what's to come when they meet North Carolina Central. Speaking of North Carolina Central, Davis Richards and the Eagles Welcome Virginia University of Lynchburgh into the nest. Can they stay focused? If it's a track game, coach Oliver will keep his guys focused. So here are some of my players. That...

Delaware State C J Henry. He threw four hundred and fourteen yards and three touchdowns. Can he consistently put up solid games and match Delaware States Defense? Norfolk states? J J Davis, the meat preseason offensive player of the year, had twenty three yards rushing in nineteen attempts last week. We know he's a quality back. But Kenny, get back rolling. I will be watching the whole North Carolina central team. How many points can they put up against Virginia University of Linzburgh or will this be a track game? I will check out Jamayra Benjamin and Kendall Moultrie to see if they can hold down those corners. They are replacing both starting corners from last year for South Carolina State. I want to make sure there wasn't too much drop off. See you next week. I'm Jacobe big, Kobe Simmons for HBC U Game Day.
